This is another popular method because it involves no incision near the breast, but rather under the arm. This placement, also known as transaxillary, allows the scar to blend fairly well with the natural lines and folds that occur in the armpit. Depending on how the scar heals, they might be more visible than the traditional method because there are no contrasting colors for it to blend with.
Axillary (armpit): The axillary incision is made through a crease in the armpit. The pocket for the breast implant can be made in front or behind the pectoral muscle. The advantage of this approach is that there are no scars on the breasts.
Natural Breast enhancement is a way to enhance your breasts with none of the risks associated with surgical procedures. Although, with natural breast enhancement, you would not expect to get instant results as with surgical procedures, but with the peace of mind that comes with it compared with the serious risk involved with invasive surgical procedures, you probably would not prefer breast surgery.
One of the chief objections in this cosmetic prosthesis is the use of silicone gel, which has been restricted as an implant material by the Food and Drug Administration in the US. Breast implants have been suspected of causing autoimmune disease, however there is no documentation to validate this fact. Known hazards of breast augmentation are asymmetry, visibility, palpability, rupture, deflation, infection, scarring, and hardening of the capsule of the implant.
Other materials used for enhancement surgery are silicone shells filled with silicone gel. Silicone shells are currently not available in America because the FDA is conducting trials on a new type of silicone gel that is believed to decrease the instances of leakage.
On the other hand, placing the implant behind the muscle can be painful and uncomfortable for several days following the surgery. The entire surgical procedure usually takes one to two hours to complete. As a final measure, stitches are used to close the incisions and many surgeons will tape the area or use a gauze bandage to aid in healing and to provide extra support to the sensitive breasts.
Silicone implants are a lot better product than Saline filled implants, because Saline implants are more likely to leak, which leads to corrective surgery and replacements. Not to mention, you will have to spend more money to have surgery done again.
Women must go into breast enhancement with realistic expectations of what the operation will do for them. It is important to keep in mind that even though breast augmentation surgery can do wonders for self-esteem, it is meant to enhance your appearance, not make your life perfect.
As for safe procedures, a woman must understand the different types of incisions as well as possible implications associated with these incisions. The most common incision type for safe breast enhancement surgeries is an inframammary incision where the incision is placed below the breast. These incisions are easy to hide but often leave more visible scars. Other than the recovery prospects from surgery, a woman should also consider the complexity of the procedure.
The two breast implant options for women to choose from today include saline filled and silicone gel filled breast implants. The implant option a woman and her plastic surgeon choose depends largely on the size of the woman as well as the desired shape of her breasts post-operation. While the saline option allows for the implant to be increased and decreased in size, the silicone gel filled option allows for a more natural look and feel of the breast.
