Employee Assistance Programs (EAPs) are designed to provide human resource psychological and counseling services. EAPs are aimed at maximizing the health consciousness of employees to gain more strengths and capabilities. An EAP is an external entity hired by a company to assist their employees with mental health or stress related problems due. They initiatives are integrated into the workplace as part of the health, safety and training programs of the company and in conjunction with labor regulations.

EAPs are holistic in nature. They do not only remain limited to the performance related issues but integrate holistic needs of employees to manage with work stress, emotional stress, family stress. An EAP will assess the needs of the employee requiring assistance. EAP services specialize in resolving workplace conflict and work related stress. The main objective of an EAP is to assist employee in minimizing the conflicts between work and personal problems so as to improvise on the productivity and efficiency. It is beneficial to both employees as well as employers as employees in true sense enjoy their work get work satisfaction and contribute to the maximum and employers can really get more out of their workforce.
Companies who have encouraged employees to use EAPs have found a direct relation between assistance programs and an increase in overall performance and job satisfaction.
Employers are now beginning to realize the interconnection between work and mental and physical health. Employers are also beginning to connect this to productivity.
Employee Assistance Programs not only benefit the individual they have a lasting positive impact for the company. Employees Assistance Programs help with restore the following factors:

Well planned EAP can be an asset to a company and worth every penny that is spent on it.
