Stones, Nature, History And Beauty

The date of the building of the house is uncertain; some architectural historians believe that the basement dates from the late seventeenth century.

Cork Buildings – Past Meets Present

Cork features architecturally notable buildings originating from the medieval to modern periods. St. Patrick’s Street, a main street that has been recently remodelled, is known for the architecture of the buildings along its pedestrian-friendly route, it’s the main shopping street in Cork, Ireland.

Red Abbey Tower, the only medieval building left in Cork, is all that remains of a 14th-century Augustinian priory. The tower was used by John Churchill as a vantage point in the Siege of Cork.

St. Finbarre's Cathedral is a striking finely proportioned early French Gothic building with three spires. Architecturally it must surely be the finest building in the city forming as it does a massive architectural pile standing on the high outcrop overlooking the city.
