The main causes of infertility factors explaining the infertility of a couple are multiple and are distributed equally among both men and women. It is estimated that one third of infertility of the couple are of male origin, one third are from women and one third are from male and female. Moreover, it is not uncommon for several reasons together and superimposed to attend to the problem of infertility.

1. The causes of female infertility:
It can be sterility 'endocrine', that is to say disturbances of ovulation:
- The anovulation (no ovulation) with no rules:
* Early menopause;
* Genetic abnormalities;
* Anorexia or psychogenic factors inducing the arrest of secretion of reproductive hormones from the pituitary;
* Tumors of the pituitary;
* Hypersecretion of prolactin.

- Birth control pills with rules:
* Syndrome luteinized unruptured follicle. A follicle matures to the surface of the ovary but did not rupture during ovulation.

- The dysovulation (ovulations imperfect):
* deficiencies of corpus luteum (inadequate production of progesterone at the end of cycle);
* Abnormalities of the thyroid;
* Ovary (recruitment before ovulation of multiple follicles, without maturation and ovulation of these follicles);
* Endometriosis.

It may be tubal infertility, that is to say an abnormality of the tubes:
- Sequelae of inflammatory genital infections and pelvic inflammatory disease (inflammation of one or both fallopian tubes) with alteration of the wall or fallopian tubes blocked.
- Congenital abnormalities of the fallopian tube.
- Adhesions around the tubes after peritonitis, abdominal surgery, endometriosis...

There may be abnormalities of the cervical mucus:
- Absence or congenital anomalies.
- Abnormalities of hormonal stimulation.
- Acidity of mucus in cases of inflammation or infection, making it hostile to sperm.
- Occurrence of anti-sperm antibodies in the mucus.

It can be uterine abnormalities:
- Uterine malformations in women exposed to Distilment (uterus small T-shaped).
- Congenital anomalies (septet uterus).
- Presence of fibroids in the uterus, or polyps.
- Uterine synechiae, that is to say adhesions sequelae following infection or uterine curettage traumatic.
- Chronic inflammatory lesions of the uterine lining.

2. The causes of male infertility:
• These are all the causes leading to inadequate sperm production or sperm production of poor quality.
• Insufficient production by malfunction of the testes may well be when there is a pathology of the hypothalamus or pituitary gland.
These two glands produce brain because of hormones (FSH and LH) that control the functioning of the testes.

There are cases of inadequate secretion of the hormone responsible for male infertility. This is the case of certain congenital abnormalities (hypogonadotropic hypogonadism or prepubertal total) or some pituitary tumors:

• It may also be a lack of sperm production by the testes.
This is the case with certain congenital diseases: chromosomal abnormalities.
This can also occur as a secondary sequelae of viral orchitis (testicular infection), trauma or torsion, radiation or chemotherapy interventions for inguinal hernia; occupational exposure to heat or radiation, cryptorchidism (anomalies the birth of testicular descent into the scrotum).

• Third, there may be abnormalities of sperm transport.
In cases of obstruction of the vas deferens and epididymis, sperm transport is possible. This obstruction may be congenital or acquired (testicular tumors, cystic fibrosis, inflammatory scars, and surgical scars).
